Telling stories on Cody

I had to hold back laughs today as Cody filled me in on the happenings of his day at preschool. I called home as I left school school today, and Cody happened to answer. Cody informed me that it was an awful day and his teachers were really mean.

"They were yelling at the kids for no reason, and they didn't let me finish my fruit snacks (Bless his teachers, they sit with the kids at lunch and make sure that healthy foods are eaten first.)."

My response, "Wow Codes, I can't imagine why teachers would yell without a reason. Are you sure?"

"Yes Mom, my teachers are so mean. They are not Christian. One of them told me they go to a church that says don't love God."

At this point I knew my son was playing me. He was crafting the conversation to gain my sympathy for whatever the real problem at school happened to be. I tried to take him ever so seriously and continue to listen, but didn't get the real story until I got home and talked to Jeff.

The story Cody told his dad was that some of the kids told the teacher, "No" when they were asked to do something, and the teacher set the child straight as to who was going to be in charge at school (Go teacher! Set the foundation now!) Cody's personal issue at school was completely and totally around the fun fruits which he was told to finish quickly because it was time to go home.

So if anyone out there is a preschool teacher, watch out! Your spiritual fruit is being judged by a five year old limited to one pack of fun fruits per day. Don't push him!
